The hotel may have a 2-star rating, but it definitely deserves more. The room was spotlessly clean with a beautiful view, even from the shower. The two little balconies were a lovely addition, and the bed was very comfortable. The location was excellent, right next to the old walls, and within walking distance to the main street of the old town.
Everything was fantastic! 😊

It is a great setting in a picturesque town. i loved the view over the city wall in the countryside below.
I am glad I found your booking site and was able to book a room though this service, as the hotel did not respond to any of the emails that I sent to them directly.

Good views. A good location for parking the car. Lots of steps to the main street but that is Morella!
Not much information available but we found the tourist office.

Hotel was easy to find at entrance to walled town of Morella. Free public parking just opposite hotel. Wonderful view from bedroom window on fourth floor. Staff were courteous.
Steep walk with many steps from hotel to centre of town and historic buildings. Bed was firm and there was a lack of selection at breakfast.

Rooms were small but clean with nice en suite facilities and lovely views.
Check-in was perfunctory. We were given our key with no directions how to find the room, and no information about hotel facilities. We should have been told that the hotel restaurant was unavailable because of a function. When we discovered this later the employee I approached to ask about alternative provisions told me bluntly there were none. Her manner was rude and dismissive to the point of being hostile. My wife, who had a leg operation ten days earlier was forced, with me, to climb very large numbers of steps to the old town to find a restaurant (which, of course, turned out to be really poor}! All in all a most unpleasant experience. Be warned!

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The views from the balcony and even from the bathroom window were absolutely breathtaking. I could watch sheep walking and climbing on the hills, and even bats flying at night. The hotel itself was clean and quite modern, with all the necessary facilities. The location was perfect, as it was within a short walk up the stairs to the town center. Additionally, the hotel was conveniently located next to the ramparts of the old walls, providing a unique and picturesque setting.
Nothing negative to say.

Location at the entrance to Morella is good with parking readily available. There is a local supermarket nearby, which proved to be handy... (see below).
When we checked in on 10.13.2010 for our one-night stay we were told by the desk attendant about the time of breakfast and its price. He also recommended local restaurants as there would be no dinner service. So the next morning, it was an extremely unfortunate experience for (a hungry) us to learn from his female colleague, that no breakfast was being served at all....

I had an amazing stay at a charming hotel in a picturesque town. The location was perfect for exploring and the room was spacious and clean. The views from the balcony were breathtaking, especially watching the sheep on the hills and the bats at night. The staff was friendly and helpful, making my experience even more enjoyable. Despite a few minor inconveniences like limited parking and a lack of breakfast choices, the value for money was unbeatable. I would definitely stay here again if I am visiting the area. highly recommend this hotel for a memorable trip.

The location was excellent - easy parking and close to the centre of this small, steep, town. Some pleasant, inexpensive local restaurants and bars, some expensive ones too! Spectacu;ar views from the walls.
Some obvious water damage to the ceiling which made it unsightly, but not too off-putting.

We stayed at Hotel El Cid for 2 nights during our visit to Morella. The hotel's location was excellent, right next to the old walls and just a short walk to the main street of Old Town. Our double ensuite room was clean and had a small balcony with a great view of the old walls. The staff at the hotel were welcoming and helpful, despite limited English. The free Wi-Fi had a good signal throughout the hotel. There was also a café on the ground floor where breakfast was served, although we didn't try it. a great stay with beautiful views and friendly staff.
Can recommend this hotel.
